Look, I want to love this world

as though it’s the last chance I’m ever going to get

to be alive

and know it.

Sometimes in late summer I won’t touch anything, not

the flowers, not the blackberries

brimming in the thickets; I won’t drink

from the pond; I won’t name the birds or the trees; I won’t whisper my own name.

One morning

the fox came down the hill, glittering and confident, and didn’t see me— and I thought:

so this is the world.

I’m not in it.

It is beautiful.

doing good

doing good

people doing good who I’m crushing on this week:

TerraCycle for recycling the “unrecyclable” - they’re taking on new investors with a pretty low minimum so get in on that!!

Cookspace for putting together a food waste cooking class teaching the world how to use what would be otherwise thrown away and for inspiring me to make my own yogurt and cheese

For Days for the best t-shirts ever, male and female alike (they take back your old t-shirts and turn them into new ones!)

Sky Ting Yoga for not selling any single-use plastics in their studio anymore (and for prioritizing ethically and environmentally made yoga clothes - loving Live the Process too) and for generally spreading kindness and love in this harsh city I live in

Tandem Coffee in Maine for charging people who don’t bring their own cups an extra fee

Keap BK for their amazing founders who are challenging what it means to be good to the environment (I got a chance to meet and have a long one-on-one conversation with them this week!) and for their fig candle that smells like a dream

East Fork Pottery for making everything I want to have in my house and for living life the way I want to live it

Ovenly for their big dreams and bigger impact and unreal vegan cookies
